Training on JBCC building contracts
JBCC comprises nine constituents that
represent the construction industry (owners
and developers, contractors, subcontractors, and
related professions), whose members volunteer
their services and knowledge to draft building
contracts containing an equitable distribution
of contractual risk. The JBCC supplies these
agreement documents to all users through the
constituents’ regional offices, and offers short,
intensive training courses on the appropriate
application of these agreements throughout
the subcontinent.
Uwe Putlitz, CEO of JBCC, conducts the one-day
training workshops, which earns delegates the
appropriate continuing professional development
(CPD) credit.

The training on the “Principal Building
Agreement and Nominated/Selected Subcontract
Agreement” for the second semester of 2018
will take place on:
• 15 August: Garden Court, East London
• 16 August: The Beach Hotel, Marine Drive,
Port Elizabeth
• 5 September: The Country Club
Johannesburg, Auckland Park
• 12 September: Sports Science Institute of
South Africa, Cape Town
• 3 October: Bytes Conference Centre,
Halfway Gardens, Midrand; and
• 14 November: 18 Burlington B&B and
Conference Venue, Durban.
