TSATT sends rep to Russia.
The Tertiary Sports of Trinidad and Tobago (TSATT) recently sent Reynaldo Christie along with
Mr Mancini Mahadeo and Timothy Derry as Trinidad and Tobago’s representatives at the Interna-
tional University Sports Federation (FISU) Volunteer Leaders Academy held in Kazan, Russia
(June 14-22). Reynaldo is a student of the Faculty of Food and Agriculture (FFA) at University of
West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine. Reynaldo was selected by a TSATT appointed panel from among nominees put forward
by the tertiary level institutions they attend, based on their participation in sport, volunteerism and cultural activities. Reyn-
aldo’s selection came as a result of his successful tenure as Games Committee
Chairman of UWI Guild of Students, his participation in boxing and mixed martial
arts and his outstanding volunteer service in areas of nature and environmental
conservation. As one of the 119 representatives from 90 countries across the world,
Reynaldo was trained as a youth ambassador to promote FISU’s aims and objectives
through his participation in an intensive programme of workshops, lectures, roundtable
discussions, networking and group presentations. FISU is the world governing body of
national university sports organisations and through its Volunteer Leaders Academy, it
aims to increase awareness and involvement in FISU activities and events, promote stu-
dent sport and healthy lifestyle among youth, and train student ambassadors at FISU
