ITU Level Coaching Course for the TTTF
The Trinidad and Tobago Triathlon Federation ( TTTF ) hosted the ITU Level 1 Triathlon Coaching Course from Friday 1st to Sunday 3 rd December 2017 . This was the face-to-face and final part of the 6 month course which commenced in June 2017 with online based assessments . The three day long intensive delivery consisted of both theory and practical sessions including group activities , discussions , personal reflections and practice of the elements taught in the classroom . The format of the course involved swim , ride and run theory , followed by group tasks and practical coaching that allowed the coaches to apply the information in coaching relevant situations . Six local coaches and two regional coaches are now certified ITU Level 1 Triathlon coaches . The local coaches are : Derek Daniel , Aliya Drakes , Maria Gooding , Riana Harrinauth , Richard Jones , Kiyomi Rankine and Michelle Wilson and the regional coaches are Harold Lewis ( Barbados ) and Jane Noel ( Grenada ). The ITU facilitators were Claudia Beristain ( Mexico ) and Rodrigo Milazzo ( Brazil ). It is hoped that these coaches will assist in developing the sport at every level , increasing participation and guiding triathletes of all abilities to fulfil their potential .
