ISSUE № 28, FEB 2018 4 Martin in his “priMe” Martin Prime is one of the more established Masters Athletes out of Trinidad and Tobago. He started participating in Masters Competitions in 2012. His achievements at the Worlds Masters include a bronze in the 200m and a gold in the50-54 60m finals in Budapest; in a time of 7.44 in 2014. Starting in lane four, the San Fernando runner took an early lead and held on for the victory ahead of Petteri Soini of Finland (7.52) and Italian Giancarlo D’Oro (7.55). Although he was unable to defend his crown in South Korea in 2017, he did still manage to se- cure a bronze. In so doing he has participated in keeping the Trinidad and Tobago flag flying and relevant in the sport of Masters Ath- letics. The discipline to keep involved in active sport has allowed him “to meet so much wonderful people “ and he has been able to travel to many countries thanks to the sport. He remains “grateful and committed to continue, so long as God allows.”
