The Masters Association of T&T
The first World Masters Association (WMA) Championships was held in
Canada in 1975. Trinidad was represented by Mr.PG Wilson in the Men’s
55-59 age group, where he won a bronze medal in the 200m. Since then
Trinidad and Tobago has been represented at the majority of the World
Championships; at both the Outdoors and Indoors Championships. Some of
the early pioneers were Zeno Constance, Ralph Romain, Monica Tang
Wing and Oswald Rogers just to name a few. T&T currently holds two Masters World records, one from Ralph Ro-
main in the Men’s 60years 400M and from Donelle Stafford, Sasha Springer, Ayanna Hutchinson and Marsha Mark-
Baird in the Women’s 35years 4x100m relay which was achieved in France.
This year the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Masters Athletics will be hosting their 33 rd Annual Championships on
May 5 th 2018 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. This will serve as preparation for The World Championships to be held
in Malaga, Spain from 4 th -16 th September 2018. The current executive of the Masters Association in T&T led by the
President Albert St.Louis includes Ian Carter, Joan Hospedales, Suzan Garcia, Philbert Ryce, Martin Prime, Ruth Frazer-
Munroe, Susannah Joefield, Geraldine
George and Emile Burkett. “Anyone
age 35 and over can get involved. You
do not have to be a former athlete or be-
long to any club. If you like running,
walking, jumping or throwing, just start
to practice and enter the Masters Cham-
pionships on 5 th May. Start NOW ”
