Also, Lisa has always tried wearing the top loose, but by tucking it into a pair of shorts we lose the baggy effect and emphasise the waist. Tailoring is not always worthwhile on cheaper clothes, but this top has sentimental value. It is also a classic that can be worn with all four key (bottom) pieces we selected for the trip. We also talk about the pieces Lisa doesn’t like. Many of these are pastel pink, beige and blush in palette, and compete rather than complement Lisa’s skin tone. A few items are past their best, and Lisa feels she has other items she would rather wear. Some things are just not “her” any more. Lisa ordered a beautiful cream jumpsuit for the wedding in Italy, so we set about accessorising that and then pulling together looks for the rest of the trip. She is going away with her husband for five days while the boys have some grandparent’s time, so the looks are glam and gorgeous. However, it was important to be able to incorporate many of these pieces into the other aspects of her European trip. Lisa is keen not to plan every outfit but wanted inspiration and combinations that would enable her to mix and match. The looks I put together were often combinations she had never considered. Lisa wants to do some shopping in the UK, so we discussed the kinds of additions she wanted to make. Metallic heels: she wants some new shoes for the wedding and possibly something more special to wear in general. Denim shorts: usually a wardrobe staple, Lisa does not have any, so we felt this would be a good casual addition for family time and to combine with her tops. Skirts: This is an area Lisa wants to experiment with. Given the number of dresses and jumpsuits she has for going out, I suggest options that have a more casual or semi-casual feel; full skirts with pockets for example.
