When local talent exceeds expectation and longevity, Craig Gardner has come a long way since his early days with the 80's band, Legacy. Determined to make a name for himself, this musically trained guitarist first picked up his stringed instrument at the age of 13, knowing this was what he wanted to do for the long haul. Gardner, now 55, is gracing the stage, writing and signing his rockabilly originals along with crooning a few bluesy notes around and about town.

Originally born in St.Louis, he left the midwest to do a short stint in the early 90's to play Vegas on the outskirts of the strip. Once accomplishing his mission to perform outside of Missouri, it was time to come home and rethink the next plan. As one of the original members of the Poppies 3, and gaining some local recognition, Gardner once again embarks in another direction.

Today not only he is a soloist but you will find him performing with Drew Acree, Gardner and Acree or better known as half of The Kickdown. (the other two members , brothers Nate and Chris Williams.

"No Ladder is too tall or too high ... Still trying to reach Rock-Stardom", Is Craig Gardner's mantra when performing.

A solo performance on Craig Gardner can be seen August 29th, Urban Chestnut Brewery/ 3229 Washington Avenue and to learn more on The kickdown visit: www.kickdownrocks.com
