Operations, Pat Riley, has a helluva task ahead of him. He has to once again figure out how to put together a super team. One difference this go-around is that he has about $55 million in cap space to work with, the most of any NBA team this off-season.

Miami acquired former UConn guard, Shabazz Napier, in a draft night trade. This was crucial as it’s been said that LeBron wants more guard help. He even tweeted that Napier was his “favorite player in the draft.” Last year’s draft pick, James Ennis, has been playing well on the Heat’s Summer League team. Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts have agreed to join the team. It seems the team is doing all it can to keep the best player in the league in Miami. LeBron has made one thing very clear: he needs better support so that a repeat of this year doesn’t happen.

Through all of the speculation, rumors, and uncertainty, I am excited to see how this all turns out. One thing that is for certain is that Pat Riley will put the best team available out on the court, and Head Coach, Erik Spoelstra, will work his magic & have them playing hard. Just think, in a few weeks this will all be behind us and we’ll have to find something new to scrutinize and critique.
