Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself: Where are from? What got you interested in music? Have you taken any music classes?

My name is Spotlite. I'm from St. Louis. They call me Spotlite because other than the fact I’m white, I’ve always been in the mix to shine. My interest in music came at a young age. I've never taken any music classes. I just watched music videos all the time and caught on to the culture. The box had me hooked…we ain't have cable!!!!

Can you remember when you realized you had a talent/gift for music? If so, what was the first song you recorded? Why?

I realized I had a gift in the second grade when I got in a talent show. I could actually sing as a child but I left that alone when i went to high school. In high school I started rapping because i wasn't able to pursue my first passion basketball, due to getting in trouble and grades. I could think fast and it came so easy to me. I saw other people battle rapping so i got into it and took over. My first song I recorded was called "My Hustle" with a group I started called CGNB (can't get no betta)

Where do you gather the inspiration for your music?

I gather my inspiration from my drive to be successful. I push myself because honestly I always knew I had a crazy talent. Plus I like to take care of the important people in my life (my daughter, my family, my team) they need me and I will deliver.

Besides music, do you have any other interesting hobbies or a funny story you would like to share about an experience involving music?

I play basketball and football. I'm a huge cowboys fan and I never miss a game. As far as funny stories, I've had way too many dealing with these industry clowns to go into detail. But I'll say I got my first major feature from Paul Wall, after cutting his hair and kicking it with him at Nelly's celebrity basketball game. He's a real cool cat and always looks out for me.
