Hyundai Construction Equipment Co . has seen a sharp rise in the sales of its
excavators in China this year , backed by a recovery in the construction sector , according to the Yonhap News Agency . According to industry sources , the company sold some 1 600 excavators in the first four months of the year , nearing last year ’ s sales of 1 900 units in total . Demand for construction equipment has been on the rise in China due to increased infrastructure budget spending . The Chinese economy grew 6.9 % in the first quarter of 2017 , higher than its estimated annual growth of 6.5 %. In the January – April period , a total of 52 000 excavators were sold in China , more than doubling from a year earlier , the sources said .
US-based Dust Control Technology , which pioneered atomised mist dust control cannons over a decade ago with its powerful DustBoss designs , has changed its name to BossTek to better reflect all of the company ’ s successful product lines . These include the OdorBoss line of environmentally safe topical and airborne odour suppression treatments , and the KoolBoss crowd cooling technology for large outdoor events . “ Over time , we began to realise that we were not simply a supplier of dust suppression equipment , but rather a solutions provider with the expertise to address a much wider range of applications ,” says BossTek president Laura Stiverson . “ These new segments of our business are growing far beyond our initial expectations , and our updated company name more accurately reflects the firm ’ s commitment to the expanding needs of our customers .”
Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has installed a new 17 000t forging press — the world ’ s largest to date — at the forging plant of its manufacturing complex in Changwon , South Gyeongsang province in South Korea . The new press is 29m tall and 9m wide , and can forge steel ingot with the strength equivalent of 240 000 men pressing on the metal at the same time . Doosan Heavy Industries had been working on the development of the press since 2014 , applying its own proprietary technologies and experience acquired from years of making cast and forged materials for large-scale power projects . Doosan also expanded the size of its forging plant by nearly 34 % to 73 748m ² for the new large-scale machine , which replaced the existing 13 000t forging press that was operated for the past 35 years . The company ’ s forging plant is now capable of producing 80 000t of forged materials a year .

SDLG celebrates 45th anniversary with commemorative machines
Chinese construction equipment manufacturer Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery ( SDLG ) is celebrating its 45th anniversary as a company this year . Founded in the Chinese city of Yimeng in 1972 and launching its first wheel loader in 1979 , SDLG has since grown into one of China ’ s largest construction equipment manufacturers , having sold millions of machines over the past 4.5 decades .
To celebrate the 45th anniversary , the company rolled out a range of special edition equipment in April , including the L953F , L956F , L958F , L968F , LG6120E , LG6225E , LG6300E ,
G9138 , and G9190 models from its wheel loader , excavator , and motor grader portfolio . Each machine features a special coating that commemorates the occasion .
“ We are very pleased to celebrate 45 years in the equipment manufacturing industry and we are pleased to share this occasion with our customers ,” said Wang Zhizhong , board chairperson of SDLG . “ Our achievements in the past few decades are a reflection of our customers ’ commitment and support to the company , so we ’ d like to take this opportunity to mark this milestone with them in mind .”
SDLG has been selling wheel loaders since 1979 , and was one of the first companies in China to produce more environmentally sensitive machines .

2016 , the company began selling its F-Series , Tier 4 Final machines across many of its product lines .
As part of a partnership with the World Wildlife Fund ( WWF ), SDLG became the first construction equipment company in China to successfully reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.65 million tons , which it accomplished in just three years . Over the next five years , SDLG plans to invest more than USD40-million in a smart manufacturing project in partnership with Tsinghua University , with the ultimate goal of establishing intelligent plants in pursuit of zero emissions production .
SDLG was also ranked 35th in China ’ s list of Top 100 Mechanical and Industrial Businesses by the China Machinery Industry Federation in 2016 .
