Plain and Simple: Bright Business Insights Spring 2018

PLAIN AND SIMPLE Bright Business Insights Vol. 3 | Issue 2 | Spring 2018 Dear Readers, It looks like spring is finally in the air and we are now finding ourselves outdoors, ready to enjoy the warmer weather and sunshine. That being said, with tax season behind us, this is actually the best time of year to assess your current business situation while deploying a sound tax planning strategy that will help strengthen your bottom line long into the future. Because you’ve suffered from cabin fever for so long, you’re probably more than happy to push aside the day-to-day work in favor of a little R&R. Unfortunately, about the time you finally find your way back to your desk again, you (once again) find yourself behind, which means that instead of taking a proactive approach to managing your business, you revert to reactive mode. In this edition of Plain & Simple, our team will provide you with tips and insight that will hopefully inspire you to stay on top of your game this spring. From helping you overcome state and local tax concerns to providing you with ways to take your performance man- agement activities to the next level, the following pages are full of advice from our local team of tax experts and business consultants. I hope you will take a moment to read through this publication. And, of course, if you see something you would like to learn more about or comment on, you can reach out to the author directly as we’ve provided their contact information along with each article. I’ve talked a lot about the importance of maintaining a proactive stance toward managing your business, but I’m also a strong believer in work/life balance. That being the case, I truly hope you find a moment to enjoy the people, things and hobbies you enjoy most in your life this spring. I know that I’m looking forward to spending some time outside with my family.
