Sports promote team-building and healthy competition for students. By participating in athletics, students learn the importance of personal fitness, hard work and good sportsmanship. PJP is a member of the competitive Pioneer Athletic Conference whose members also include: Boyertown, Methacton, Norristown, Owen J. Roberts, Perkiomen Valley, Phoenixville, Pottsgrove, Pottstown, Spring-Ford, Upper Merion, and Upper Perkiomen. In PJP’s first five years, the Panthers have made our presence known! The Girls’ Volleyball Team is off to another strong start in 2016, after winning PAC Championships for the past four years and District I Championships for three of the past four years. The Volleyball Team made it to the PIAA Final Four in 2012 and PIAA Final Eight in 2013. The Baseball Team won the first ever PIAA AAA State Championship in 2014, after winning the District I Championship. The Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams have also seen much success. The boys brought home the first ever PAC 10 Championship in 2011, and they made it to the PIAA state tournament three years in a row. The girls had impressive District I runs in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016, and qualified for the state playoffs in 2015 and 2016. The Softball Team earned PJP the first ever District I Championship in 2011. The Boys’ Soccer Team were District I qualifiers in 2016, and the Girls’ Soccer Team made it to the PAC 10 Championship Game and into District I playoffs in 2014 and 2016. The PJP Cheerleading Team impressed at the UCA National Cheer Championships in Disney World in 2016, 2014, and 2011, when their routine placed them seventh in the nation. Individual PJP student athletes have earned District I (golf, wrestling, cross country and track and field) and PIAA State Championship medals (wrestling and track and field). Members of all six of PJP’s graduating classes were awarded athletic scholarships to impressive colleges and universities. We are very proud of our Panthers! Varsity level sports offered to PJP students include: Baseball Bowling Boys Basketball Girls Basketball Cheerleading Cross Country Football Field Hockey Golf Boys Lacrosse Girls Lacrosse Boys Soccer Girls Soccer Softball Boys Swimming Girls Swimming Boys Tennis Girls Tennis Track & Field (Outdoor) Girls Volleyball Wrestling In addition to the Varsity sports, many Junior Varsity level and Freshman teams are offered. PJP will be adding Freshman Girls’ Volleyball and Soccer teams in the Fall of 2017. Club sports and intramurals may be offered for popular sports not listed (such as Ice Hockey and Indoor Track).
