JOsIe AnD KYLA AND ALL THINGS NICE We’d say to other couples, don't take too long to plan the wedding if you can do it in a short period of time – it’s less stress. neither of us can really remember much of it, as the whole day was a blur – but we do remember it being great. Instead of a first dance we chose to play a song in memory of our friend who had passed away before the wedding, and everyone came together on the dance floor and sang along to the song to remember her. It was amazing and we’re both so glad we did it. We also had a photo booth for the reception, which was hilarious; everyone really enjoyed it. To this day we still get so many comments on our wedding and many of our guests say it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Our close friends and family said that they could see how happy we both were. A family member said to Josie, ‘You haven't stopped smiling, which I know means your happy as you’re normally so straight-faced!’ This makes me smile so much whenever I think of it. Another friend commented that everyone in the room loved us and was there to support us. The staff at the venue were amazing – so lovely and welcom ing. This just made us both feel so good about our wedding as we knew that our friends and family truly enjoyed every minute of it. seeing each other at the altar was a high point, but it got even better when they announced we were wife and wife. Another high point was being alone, just the two of us after the ceremony; being able to walk around the zoo and let it sink in that we were actually married. Do everything on the day that makes you happy. Of course with most weddings you have to invite certain people for your parents, but keep that to a minimum and do everything for yourselves. This may upset people for the planning process and even the day – but they soon get over it! pink weddings magazine » 67
