Promotional Feature Two iconic cultures meet with Furrer Jacot’s new ‘Matterhorn’ ring, which brings together the famous Anglo-Saxon pattern ‘Milgrain’ with highly renowned Swiss jewellery craftsmanship – in this instance in the capable hands of Schaffhausen-based Furrer Jacot, one of the oldest continuously operating jewellers in Switzerland. Furrer Jacot launches iconic new design to treasure for a lifetime Furrer Jacot has taken the opportunity to interpret and revive this pattern, this time with a Swiss finish. The task was not easy to accomplish, particularly since the goal was not purely to copy but instead improve and contemporise, while adding a generous dab of luxury to the end product. Rather than reverting to the more traditional small ‘halfspheres’ on the sides, Furrer Jacot decided to introduce small perfect pyramids instead. Beyond being a purely innovative design, the pyramids are very functional in that their surfaces vastly improve the light reflection of the facets of the ring, making it significantly clearer, more beautiful and more luxurious. One does not have to look far to understand the inspiration for the pyramid shapes in this Swiss-made product. The source is the mountains, specifically the Matterhorn, Switzerland’s highest and most iconic peak. Paying tribute to the giant granite muse, we have named the ring ‘Matterhorn’. Beyond the design of the ring itself, this piece is a reaffirmation of the imperative for all Swiss manufacturers – namely that we must always strive to improve on the status quo and exceed the already high standard of quality, appreciated by the customer. The design has been placed under international design protection. The ring is available in different widths, and the middle part of the ring is offered in several different surface finishes – polished, hammered, satin etc – to suit each customer’s individual needs and preferences. As with all Furrer Jacot’s Swiss-made products, different metal combinations such as 18 carat white, yellow and rose gold are available, as well as platinum and palladium, and can be combined with the carbon fibre designs. Additionally, diamonds can be selected as either a single beautiful gemstone or as a fully set diamond band. Each ring can be individually adapted, to give the customer his unique wedding band with its own serial number inscribed inside the ring, including a lifetime warranty. Furrer Jacot offers a free resizing of the ring after one year of purchase, as well as an additional free resizing if you pass the piece of jewellery onto a direct heir, and also replaces for free any lost diamond weighing up to 0.05 carat. www.furrer-jacot.co.uk pink weddings magazine » 85
