Dave anD Tim W e met on easter weekend 2002 after chatting on a dating site for six weeks. We’d spoken many times on the phone and tried to take it slowly. But when we met, we hit it off straight away. Our engagement happened when we were in ningaloo, Western australia in the Cape Range national Park. We’d been walking for two hours when we reached Shothole Canyon, in 42 degree heat, without much water. i had been carrying the ring around for days in my backpack and as Tim was practically on his knees with heat exhaustion anyway, it seemed the perfect time to propose. it was 31 December 2012 and would be the best new Year’s eve ever. We wanted a fairly traditional ceremony in a grand setting close to the River Thames, and chose Trinity House on Tower Hill. Friends and family from all over the world were coming, so we wanted to ensure the day was memorable for everyone. i wore a bespoke navy three-piece suit and Tim wore a light grey one, with our best man and ushers kitted out to match. We both wore hand-embroidered shirts from pink weddings magazine » 71
