The City of S Pickerington mall town charm but a progressive attitude. That’s life in the City of Pickerington. You’ll recognize it as soon as you arrive. Although the population exploded by 86% in the years 2000 to 2010, there’s still a sense of small town pride within the City of Pickerington: Pride of the superlative schools, pride of the expanding businesses, pride of the homes and neighborhoods, pride of their history, pride of the community. Arbor Day events celebrate Pickerington’s 23 years of recognition as a Tree City USA. “We are pleased to offer a variety of programs, activities and events for the entire community to enjoy throughout the year. There is always something going on in Pickerington,” said Rebecca Medinger, Director of the Parks & Recreation Department. The Pickerington Parks & Recreation Department keeps families engaged with classes, events, parades and a large community pool. Every Friday night in the summer you will find hundreds gathered on the lawn at Sycamore Creek Park, watching free movies on the side of a rustic barn. A weekly summer concert series attracts some of Central Ohio’s finest musical acts to the Pickerington amphitheatre. Three parades and a Labor Day Homecoming are on the calendar each year in the City of Pickerington. In 2015, the City celebrated its bicentennial with a year full of events. The Parks & Recreation Department also offers dozens of classes each year ranging from karate to Zumba to painting and golf instruction. There are seven parks in Pickerington with 150 acres, a disc golf course and six miles of bike path.
