mall town charm but a progressive attitude. That’s life in
the City of Pickerington. You’ll recognize it as soon as you
arrive.
Although the population exploded by 86% in the years
2000 to 2010, there’s still a sense of small town pride within
the City of Pickerington: Pride of the superlative schools,
pride of the expanding businesses, pride of the homes and
neighborhoods, pride of their history, pride of the community.
And it shows. Residents are engaged in the city’s progress and
increasing vitality.
and Breakfast with the Bunny. Arbor Day events celebrate
Pickerington’s 23 years of recognition as a Tree City USA. “We
are pleased to offer a variety of programs, activities and
events for the entire community to enjoy throughout the
year. There is always something going on in Pickerington,”
said Rebecca Medinger, Director of the Parks & Recreation
Department.
The Pickerington Parks & Recreation Department keeps
families engaged with classes, events, parades and a large
community pool. Every Friday night in the summer you
will find hundreds gathered on the lawn at Sycamore Creek
Park, watching free movies on the side of a rustic barn. A
weekly summer concert series attracts some of Central Ohio’s
finest musical acts to the Pickerington
amphitheatre.
Three parades and a Labor Day Homecoming are on the
calendar each year in the City of Pickerington. In 2015, the
City celebrated its bicentennial with a year full of events.
The Parks & Recreation Department also
offers dozens of classes each year ranging
from karate to Zumba to painting and
golf instruction. There are seven parks in
Pickerington with 150 acres, a disc golf
course and six miles of bike path. The City
also has a community garden and hosts
annual events like Haunted Village, Youth
Fishing Derby, Tots Trick or Treat at City Hall
