n the past eight years, pickleball has grown to more
than 3 million players worldwide. Of that number,
only 30,000 players are official members of the
USAPA, leaving roughly 2.97 million people playing
pickleball socially at local clubs, YMCAs or other
public courts. There’s certainly nothing wrong with
playing socially, but it does have one significant
drawback—your game does not carry rankings such as
those in USAPA-sanctioned play. With PickleballScores.
com, that’s all changing, and casual, unaffiliated players
everywhere stand to benefit.
This gap between organized tournaments and social
play was so profound that Pickleball Magazine approached
Tenniscores.com—the largest software platform for tennis
and platform tennis leagues in North America with over
600,000 league members. The goal was to see if they
could work their magic for pickleball.
“We approached them last spring, asking if they’d be
interested in developing a platform for leagues, round
robins, flex leagues, events, and tournaments for local
clubs,” said Wayne Dollard, publisher of Pickleball
32
Magazine. “Nancy Biggs, who owns Tenniscores.com and
brings over 20 years of software experience, was very
excited about the opportunity to partner and launch a new
platform to fill this void.”
Pickleballscores.com is the new platform fully loaded
with every module a local organizer could need to run
successful events from round robins to tournaments. The
organizer can charge whatever they like for their events and
pay just a small fee per registration to Pickleballscores.com.
While Pickleball Magazine has been approached by
numerous providers looking to get into this business,
PickleballScores.com was far and away our top choice,
meeting our stringent requirements and demands for an
avid, nationwide pickleball community.
“The PickleballScores.com software is simply amazing
and fulfills all of the needs of our pickleball friends without
being difficult to learn,” Dollard said. “It’s an easy-to-use
interface that gives players the ability to track their ratings
and organize their play without having to deal with a steep
learning curve.”
