The first time Marloes and I met was at her studio, where she took a sere of portraits of me. I had been looking for a photographer who could capture me in my own style and would be able to make me feel comfortable in front of the camera, instead of behind it. For my website and social media I wanted to show a bit more of myself; the pictures had to show something natural, creative and spontaneous. Marloes was the right choice! There was a connection right there in that cozy studio of hers. Because we discussed my wishes upfront, I had taken some pencils, art journals and own camera, as some creative details we could use as a background. Marloes was quite enthusiastic about the sketches in my journals and I enjoyed explaining my creative habits and goals.

Studio JUne

Since a few years I have been developing my own creativity in a way more intensive speed than ever before. Reason for that was the start of my first art journal. Last year I developed a creative art journaling workshop in cooperation with Farah Ayoubi, but unfortunately, there were too little submissions to pursue. Still I am convinced that many people around me would really love this and would benefit from starting their own visual diary. It has so much power in diverse ways. It’s a safe place to write and draw your emotions and thoughts. It’s where you can experiment, learn and record where you are in life. You absolutely don’t need drawing skills or a defined ‘creative talent’, but you will develop your creativity and style without a doubt.

" All things creative."
