24 Philippine Showbiz Today April 8 - 21, 2019 Kris Aquino clarifies ties with Claudine Barretto Kris Aquino clarified that she remains on good terms with her “Etiquette for Mistresses” co-star and long-time friend Claudine Barretto, after she appeared to have un- followed her account on Instagram. “We have never been not okay,” Aquino said in response to a follower who asked about her relationship with Barretto. “I believe she answered that very clearly.” “And I am happy for her that this bridge has been rebuilt because the truth will always be — ‘How could we not talk about family when family’s all that we got?’ Sincerely, I am happy for Clau-Clau,” she added. Aquino was referring to Barretto’s reconciliation with her eldest sister, Gretchen, with whom she had had a high-profile feud that even reached the court at one point. Barretto previously replied in the affirmative in an Instagram live video, when asked whether she is still friends with Aquino, in light of the “Mula sa Puso” star’s renewed closeness with Gretchen. Gretchen courted headlines in recent months with her vocal support of businessman Nicko Falcis, with whom Aquino is locking horns in court over allegations of theft and threats. In the wake of Claudine’s reconciliation with Gretchen, chronicled through Instagram posts, Aquino appeared to have stopped following the younger Barretto on Vilma Santos’ mother dies at 93 Mrs. Milagros Santos, the mother of veteran actress Vilma Santos, has passed away. According to a report published on the ABS-CBN entertainment website PUSH, Mrs. Santos died at a hospital in Batangas. She was 93. Both the actress-politician and her son, TV host Luis Manzano, took to social media to mourn the death of their family matriarch Milagros Santos, who passed away on Monday, April 1. “MARAMING SALAMAT PO SA INYONG LAHAT. WE LOVE YOU MAMA [sic],” wrote the 65-year- old star on Instagram, along with a throwback group photo joined by herself, her mother, and four siblings. Vilma’s son, TV host Luis Manzano, also mourned the death of his ‘Lola Ganda’ in a post on his official Facebook page on Tuesday midnight, April 2. It was in 2011 when the Star For All Seasons first revealed her mother’s ordeal with Alzheimer’s Disease. However, the family has yet to release information regarding the official cause of her death as of this writing.
