No one will be surprised
not be surprised if her sister Alex
Gonzaga finally decides to marry
her boyfriend, Mikee Morado, this
year. After all Alex will be turning
31 on January 16.
She was also 31 when she
married her husband, direc-
tor-producer Paul Soriano, with
whom she now has a son, Seve
Like her, Alex has made a
name for herself. Not only is Alex
doing well in her showbiz career,
she is now considered as one of
the country’s well-admired blog-
gers.
As sisters, they work well to-
gether, too. They own properties
and businesses, including a po-
pular milk tea brand.
Their first cinematic collabo-
ration, the MMFF entry, “Mary Ma-
rry Me,” was produced by Paul’s
Ten17Productions with Toni’s Tin
Can Productions.
“Mary Marry Me” is directed
by RC Reyes, who works with So-
riano in Ten17 Productions.●
Kris Bernal
is happy with
her career!
After last year’s “Impostora”
that lasted for more than half a
year, Kris Bernal now scores with
another certified hit in her latest
soap, “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko,”
which is now the top show in
GMA-7’s afternoon slot.
“I’m so happy to be given
shows by GMA na kakaiba talaga
ang storyline,” she says. “Kagaya
if Harlene Bautista, owner of
Heaven’s Best Entertainment
which produced this year’s
MMFF’s most acclaimed entry,
“Rainbow’s Sunset,” will be able
to convince her eldest brother,
Quezon City Mayor Herbert
Bautista to try acting anew.
After all, in a recent interview,
Mayor Herbert often says he is
willing to return to acting “if a
good material comes my way.”
Surely Harlene can find a
good project for Mayor Herbert,
who is not running for any position
in the May 2019 elections.
Mayor Herbert is an award-
winning actor who counts among
his contemporaries the still much-
admired performer, Aga Muhlach.
Together, they did “Bagets” with
Yayo Aguila and Eula Valdez,
among others.
“Rainbow Sunset” won the
most number of awards during
the MMFF’s Gabi ng Parangal,
including best picture; best
director (Joel Lamangan); best
actress (Gloria Romero); best
supporting actor (Tony Mabesa)
and actress (Aiko Melendez),
plus special jury awards for Eddie
Garcia and Max Collins.●

But it looks like Kris will soon
discover the secret of Venus. Ve-
nus’ former lover when he was sti-
ll Nathan, Matthias Rhoads, turns
up to be a friend of Rayver and
he might be the key for the truth
about Venus to be revealed. The
unique storyline is complemen-
ted by the very persuasive acting
of all the actors in the cast, so it’s
not a surprise a lot of viewers are
following its every episode. Kris is
one star who’s also a successful
entrepreneur.

It seems like it’s going to take
a while before former host Cami-
lle Villar returns to TV – if she will
return at all. But Villar, the only
daughter of Senator Cynthia Vi-
llar and real estate magnate Man-
ny Villar, fondly looks back at the
experience.
It was more than five years
ago that Camile got thrust to the
limelight as part of “Wowowillie’s”
stable of hosts, with Mariel Padi-
lla, Grace Lee, among others. The
primetime show was one of TV5’s
top moneymakers and served as
an effective training ground not
only for a career in hosting, but
also for public service, noted Ca-
mille.
“In terms of listening to
people, talking to people and un-
derstanding what they want and
being able to help them – that
was the best preparation,” shared
Camille, “Because when I was in
the show, I got to talk to everybo-
dy and I got to understand their
plight in life.
“Realizing what they were
going through is what made me
want to help. That’s how it prepa-
red me, it showed me a different
aspect,” she added.
Daddy Manny, Mommy Cyn-
thia and Kuya Mark Villar are all
confident she is ready to take on
a new path.
“Sa amin lahat, siya ang pi-
naka-suited for politics,” they
said. The entrepreneur and mom
appreciates the vote of confidence
from her family, but she does feel
she needs to step up her game.
“No, hindi naman [ako na-
pre-pressure] but it’s like you
always want to make your parents
proud,” she stated, “Hopefully, I
make them proud in this new en-
deavor.
“I’m flattered and at the same
time, I feel like I don’t want to di-
sappoint them. I hope I do well,”
she added.●
Annabel
Rama proud
of
her family
Annabelle Rama is very proud
of the good feedback her son Ri-
chard Gutierrez is getting for his
role as the debonair Prince Pryce
in “Fantastica.”
“Anim na beses ko nang na-
panood ang pelikula,” she proudly
tells us at the Christmas Party of
Malou Choa Fagar for the talents
she’s managing, which include
Joey Marquez, Rita Avila, Boy2
Quizon, Maila Gumila, Roderick
Paulate, Ralph and Renz Fernan-
dez. “Hindi ako nagsasawa. Kahit
ilang beses ko nang napanood,
tawa pa rin ako nang tawa. Balak
ko pang magpa-block screening.
Comeback movie ‘yan ni Richard
and I’m glad na top grosser sa ta-
kilya.”
She’s glad her apo, Zion, also
gets positive comments for “Fan-
tastica.” “Kasama rin sa movie
ang anak ni Richard, si Zion, na
may guest appearance sa ending
at sabi niya sa’kin, this year, gus-
to na niya talagang mag-artista.
Pati ang mother ni Zion, si Sarah
Lahbati, kasama rin sa movie,
kaya ang sabi sa’kin ni Vice Gan-
da, dapat daw, sa entry niya next
film fest, kasali na rin ako.”
Annabelle says Richard will
soon start taping for his new soap
for ABS-CBN, “Project Iron Heart.”
“Pero tentative pa lang ‘yung title.
Si Bea Alonzo ang makakapareha
niya. So habang si Chard, nasa
ABS, si Eduardo naman (Eddie
Gutierrez), nasa Kapuso taping
for ‘Cain at Abel’ almost every
other day. Tuwang-tuwa siya pag
may taping siya kasi ang tuhod
niyang inoperahan at nilagyan ng
titanium, nae-exercise niya kaysa
kung nasa bahay lang siya.”
Annabelle is also a concert-
producer for her Royale Artist Ma-
nagement Company and she has
a pre-Valentine show called “Va-
lentine Extravaganza” on February
12 at the Grand Marriott Ballroom
in Resorts World.
“Big concert ito at maraming
Los Angeles, where she has boug- singers na kakanta, both veteran
ht her own house, in time for the and younger performers,” she
birthday of her of her older sister adds.●
