Philippine Showbiz Today March 8 - 21, 2018 Richard talks on new career chapter Richard Gutierrez considers his being a Kapamilya via the hit prime time offering La Luna Sangre a new chapter in his showbiz career. The actor said that ABS-CBN has given him good exposure and he can only be thankful for every  opportunity. “It’s a fresh start for me, a good chapter if I may say so. As an actor, I’m excited with what’s going else to happen in the coming days,” he starts.  “Obviously, they’re doing a great job. I’m amazed. That’s the reason why they are an industry leader, and it’s nice to work with only the best.” Looking back, Chard has no regrets if at current, he is no longer the Prime Time King, unlike when he was with former mother studio GMA where he reigned supreme in the ratings chart starting with Mulawin in 2004. “Well, I’ve had my fair share of triumph in the past no doubt. My eleven-year stay as a Kapuso opened lots of opportunities for me then. Imagine, I was churning in one hit show after the other. That was indeed an amazing phase in my career. “But I guess, in the passing of times, I evolved both as a performer and individual. I believe that as long as you’re passionate about your craft and open to further improvement, you still have a long way to go in the ‘biz.” Richard discloses the reason why he opted not to renew his contract with GMA during that time. 21 “For the record, it was my choice. Perhaps, I got too tired. My workload was continuous. I got burnt out. I wasn’t enjoying already. I didn’t know myself then as well as my true friends. I went through an emotional roller coaster during that period but I’m thankful that I’ve undergone such because it helped me become more mature.” Because of that experience, the popular star realized a lot of things about handling stardom. “I realized that I had to go through all that stuff to know what really matters. I’m no longer the happy-go-lucky type. Now, I don’t take things for granted when it comes to my career.  I treat it more as a profession. “During my time-off, when I lived in Switzerland and the States for a while, I was able to rejuvenate myself. I gained my mojo back, so to speak. Everything appeared to be fresh once again. It’s not all about high salary. You do it because you love acting. I’m happy to say that at this point, I’m into that stage in which I love my craft!” ends Richard. ● - J.P. Gonzales, MT Baron Geisler nabbed for Sarah G voted ‘Best alarm and scandal in Angeles Philippine Act’ in New York Baron Frederick Von Geisler is in the news again. He was hauled to jail Monday afternoon by local police here, the latest incident in the troubled actor’s sordid, violent life. Geisler reportedly went amuck outside the residence of Michael Robin Stone Morales, 45, and challenged everyone on sight to a fist fight. He was wielding a bladed weapon when caught by authorities, said Senior Inspector Agnes Nolasco, chief of the Public Information Office (PIO) of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO). In his complaint, Morales stated that Geisler was unruly and yelling invectives in front of his residence while clutching a kitchen knife at Barangay Pulung Maragul in this city past 3 p.m. He said Geisler threatened house occupants with harm including his wife. Geisler, 53, kicked the gate of Morales’ residence and challenged him to a face-off. “Baron was so rowdy and unruly when he stormed our residence in Don Bonifacio Subdivision,” Morales told authorities. Morales said he asked the assistance of police station 3 leading to Geisler’s arrest. He said the March 5 incident was one of series of incidents where the movie actor had been involved in public scandal due to alcohol. “Kapag nalalasing nagwawala naghahanap ng away at wala nang respeto sa kanyang kapatid,” said Morales. A kitchen knife was seized by responding cops from Geisler’s possession. Charges of grave threat, alarm and scandal and illegal possession of bladed weapon have been filed before the City Prosecutors Office against Geisler who remained locked up at the Station 3 detention cell. The actor, who has a long history of alcoholism and abrasive behavior, posted a selfie video to his Facebook page early Monday, showing a bloodied and battered face.
