Aiza to ‘ Ice ’ Seguerra
Ice Seguerra , the singer and child star formerly known as Aiza , now 34 , recently explained the reason he changed his name .
It ’ s been years since he proudly came out as a trans man , and Ice explained he considers his name change as a form of fully embracing his sexuality .
“ Kasi change is not easy . A lot of people are used to calling me Aiza . Actually when I came out as trans , nagdadalawang-isip ako nun . Do I still need to come out as trans ? I mean , I already came out as a lesbian before so do I need to come out as trans pa ba ? Ang dami kong coming out . Ako na ang hari ng coming out . Alam mo ‘ yun ,” he said .
It was his wife Liza Dino who inspired him to come out as a trans man , he said . “ It was actually my wife who told me na , ‘ Love , that ’ s who you are .’ Embrace it kasi how do you expect people to embrace you kung ikaw mismo sa sarili mo ‘ di mo mayakap na Ice na ang gustong itawag sa ‘ yo – na ayaw mo ng ‘ ma ’ am .’ Those little things . And actually , if most of the things pile up , it makes me feel depressed . It makes me feel frustrated . So I had to come out . So hindi man matanggap ng mga tao lahat , at least they know .
“ So the reason why I didn ’ t tell anyone to call me Ice is siyempre alam nila na Aiza ako . So why do I need to change it ? Siguro ngayon mas nagmamatter na saken ‘ yung sincerity , ‘ yung authenticity . That this is the new me . I ’ m Ice – still me . Wala naman masyadong pinagbago , maliit pa din ako , kumakanta pa din ako . But I just want you to call me by that name ,” he said , reiterating that the only thing that changed about him is his name .

RS Francisco to turn fulltime producer
His two best actor awards from the Sinag Maynila Film Festival and the Philippine Movie Press Club ( PMPC ) Star Awards for Movies obviously inspired RS Francisco to turn full-time movie producer .
He won his awards for his performance in “ Bhoy Instik ,” which he also co-produced . In the movie , he played a gay con artist with a heart of gold , with neophyte Ronwaldo Martin as Marlon . The outcast characters ’ paths cross , starting as competitors and ending up as allies , almost like father and son . It had seasoned director Joel Lamangan at the helm .
For his next project , he is planning to produce a horror movie featuring Solenn Heussaff and Benjamin Alves . He also wants to get Cherie Gil , Angel Aquino , Gina Alajar , Sylvia Sanchez , Maxene Medina and Fabio Ide .
RS said he tapped Jonas Gaffud , the founder of Mercator , to line produce the movie .
RS wants the shooting to start as soon as he returns from Lisbon to attend the 2018 Fantasporto Film Festival , where “ Bhoy Instik ” is competing . He will be joined by Direk Joel , Jim Pebangco and actor Tony Mabesa , whom RS considers his mentor , in Portugal .
Openly gay and proud , RS is also a successful businessman and heads Frontrow International , a leading global brand in food supplement with Sam Versoza as his partner .
But acting is in his blood . He is one of two sons of actor-lawyer Rudy Francisco , who is now 95 years old . Rudy and his brother , Fred Montilla , were both Sampaguita Pictures and Vera Perez Pictures contract talents . Fred , who died in 2003 , also was a Quezon City councilor . ●
Angeline Quinto has good reasons to smile
The singer is set to get busy as she has two new assignments , not as singer , but as the star of two films .
The first one is for an independent production . She needs to read the script first , but based on her conversation with the producer and director , the project sounds like a winner .
The other film will be produced by Regal Entertainment and have K Brosas and Sam Milby , both good singers like Angeline , in the cast . It is called “ Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady ” and will have Avid Liongoren , director and producer of “ Saving Sally ,” at the helm .
“ Why I had to specify that K and Sam sing , too , is because I learned that ‘ Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady ’ will be adapted from a PETA musical which had singers Bituin Escalante , Frenchie Dy and Markki Stroem in the lead ,” said Angeline . “ Kaya maraming eksena sa pelikula na tiyak aawit kaming tatlo .”
Angeline has appeared in a movie , “ Born To Love You ,” in 2012 . It also featured Coco Martin , who was not yet the popular action star that he is now .
Angeline remains a mainstay of ABS-CBN ’ s long-running Sunday show , “ ASAP ,” as part of the newlyformed group , The Love Connection , with Erik Santos , Daryl Ong and Kyla . She is also seen in “ Your Face Sounds Familiar ” as a member of the “ Singvestigators ” with Kean Cipriano , Wacky Kiray , Bayani Agbayani , Alex Gonzaga and Andrew E . “ I Can See Your Voice ,” hosted by Luis Manzano , is aired Saturdays and Sundays . ●

Aicelle Santos off to UK for Miss Saigon
Aicelle Santos has bagged the role of Gigi Van Tranh in “ Miss Saigon ’ s ” UK tour . After the success of “ Himala : Isang Musikal ” where she plays the lead role , the GMA star is now ready to take the international stage with Cameron Mackintosh ’ s critically-acclaimed musical .
Santos first captured the hearts of theater enthusiasts with her role as Aileen in the local production , “ Rak of Aegis ” where she bagged the award for Best Actress in a Musical Production in the Aliw Awards 2014 . Last year , Aicelle has once again been recognized by Aliw Awards as Best Actress in a Featured Role for her portrayal of Perla in “ Maynila sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag .” For the same performance , she is currently nominated at the Gawad Philstage Award as Best Female Featured Actress in a Musical .
She will continue being visible on TV as her successful “ Awit Na Aicelle ” concert will be aired on GMA , and the music video for the single “ Tuloy Tuloy Lang ’” under her recent album “ Liwanag ” will also be released in the coming months . Aicelle will be leaving for the UK on the third week of March for the beginning of her training . ●
