8 Philippine Showbiz Today September 8 - 21, 2018 Jan. 22-Feb.7, 2015 Taiwan and the Philippines shine at TaiwanFest 2018 Old time acquintance Zosimo Llonora, nice to see him after 43 years with his son Ron & his apo Aaron Matthew, during the Taiwan Fest Fete with the Philippines in Downtown, Vancouver. We’re long time acquaintance during my boxing years in FEU Tamaraw, we trained at the gym of Doy Jacinto, L & M Gym, Zosimo’s boss during that time. He still remembered the way I sparred with  Rolando Navarrete. MARIO SUBELDIA’s first fashion show in Canada comprising this contemporary art exhibit. The exhibit is entitled “Immigrants” and it infers the dreams and realities of immigrants in Hsinchu City. This exhibit was opened in Aug 13 and will run till Oct 14, 2018. Amidst all the successes in the different art medium, he has not stopped from championing the involvement of fellow OFW’s. Through his events he was able to open opportunity for other Filipinos in Taiwan to excel in artistic endeavors by providing them the platform to excel and reach mainstream Taiwan. One of his known fashion design work is his “basahan” line. Incorporating this material to his designs was awed by many including his mainstream audience at the Toronto leg TAIWANfest. Meanwhile here in Vancouver, Mario was able to mount his fashion show for the festival here in Vancouver at the recently concluded TAWANfest fetê with the Philippines. The show entitled Hohaiyan- Mabuhay Fashion Show featured his work starting with drapery production followed by couture works and finally a featured run by famous Philippine artist Solenn Heussaff of GMA. This 2018 was a lucky year for Mario Subeldia, a Quezon Province native as he was finally granted a “street artist” residency visa in Taiwan and a few days after was granted a visitor visa to Canada to attend to his first Fashion Show
