Isabel gets posthumous star in Walk of Fame
Actress-singer Isabel Granada , 41 , who recently passed away on Nov . 4 in Qatar after being in a coma due to brain hemorrhage , was inducted posthumously into the Walk of Fame .
She shot to fame in the ‘ 80s as part of the popular That ’ s Entertainment show of the late German Moreno . Walk of Fame Foundation president Federico Moreno , son of the late German ‘ Kuya Germs ’ Moreno , said 19 stars were inducted on Nov . 21 at 6 pm at the Eastwood City Walk , Eastwood City , Quezon City .
Isabel Granada ’ s mother grew tearful as she accepted her daughter ’ s star at the Eastwood Walk of Fame beside Isabel ’ s widower , Arnel Cowley .
Granada was joined in the posthumous category by the late comedienne Chichay , movie directors Maning Borlaza and Eddie Romero and media personality Joe Taruc .
“ Maning Borlaza was inducted last year but he humbly declined to accept the honor due to health reasons , but he passed away during the day of the actual selection and votation held last October ,” said Moreno .
“ Mr . Joe Taruc was already in the list for this year ’ s nominees but unfortunately he also passed away last October .”
Former radio DJ Joe D Man- go , meanwhile is flying in from Australia to accept the honor for Walk of Fame .
The Walk of Fame Philippines under the Walk of Fame Foundation is a non-stock , non-profit organization that the late German “ Kuya Germs ” Moreno has created 12 years ago .
This is to give recognition to the people in the Movie , TV , Radio , Theater and Music industry that have reached the epitome of success and have greatly made a positive influence on its growth .
The Board of Trustees is composed of respected individuals from the showbiz industry and family members of the elder Moreno .
The beneficiary of the Walk of Fame Foundation is the Mowelfund Foundation . ● - MS
