Michael V preparing for his exit from Bubble Gang
For the past 22 years , Michael V has been the binding force of “ Bubble Gang ,” for which he works not only as an actor , but also a creative director . While having the long-running gagcomedy show without him is almost unimaginable , he knows that , at some point , he would have to “ graduate .”
That ’ s the reason he ’ s bent on training and guiding the show ’ s newer cast members . “ I feel compelled to teach them . I ’ m simply waiting for people to step up . They ’ re good performers , but no one writes or is part of the creative team — wala pa so far ’ yung full package ,” he said in a recent group interview for the 22nd anniversary special of “ Bubble Gang ,” whose second part airs on Nov . 24 .
“ Some things can ’ t be taught , but I always can inspire them . They all have potential . I will be leaving the door open — it ’ s up to them to step up and enter ,” added the 47-year-old comedian .
He admitted that the idea of stepping down crosses his mind once in a while .
Michael V intends to pursue filmmaking — a creative undertaking he has long been putting on hold because of his hectic schedule . He has also entertained the idea of creating content for online platforms .
“ I want the show to continue , not necessarily with me or the same cast ,” he said . “ We stick to original material as much as possible . If we have to copy or spoof something , we spiff it up so it becomes a signature ‘ Bubble Gang ’ gag .”
For inspiration , Michael V loves to go … people watching . “ I hang out at malls . Sometimes I book an Uber ride , especially when I ’ m abroad , so I could have a chat with the driver ,” said the Kapuso comedian .
For the show ’ s 22nd anniversary celebration , the gang prepared a musical set to the songs of local pop-rock group Parokya ni Edgar .
“ This is something for us . Think ‘ High School Musical ’ or ‘ Hairspray ,’” Michael V said . “ We opted to use the hits of Parokya because the band and our show have been around the industry for roughly the same time . And I think their music best describes the essence of the show .” ●

Fil-Chinese group partners with ABS-CBN
ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp . president Carlo Katigbak and other top executives recently held a meeting with Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry , Inc . ( FF- CCCII ) led by president Domingo Yap . Continuing the ethnic Chinese minority ’ s centuries-old tradition of socio-civic charities , FFCCCII will donate five public schoolbuildings for poor rural regions in partnership with ABS- CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation , Inc .
FFCCCII has embarked in several meaningful charitable projects , including the awarding of P100,000 cash for each of the 101 government soldiers and police killed in the Marawi conflict last July 25 . In December 2016 , FFCCCII donated 15 public school buildings for Sulu in response to President Rody R . Duterte ’ s call to assist that region . FFCCCII has also donated drug rehabilitation centers all over Luzon , Visayas and Mindanao . It also supports the Filipino-Chinese volunteer fire brigades nationwide

Kisses is now a Star Pop artist
PBB Lucky Season 7 2nd Big Placer Kisses Delavin finally introduced her highly anticipated debut album Kisses under Star Pop , Star Music ’ s new sublabel for the young market , to a jampacked crowd at SM North EDSA Skydome recently .
The rising teen star pepped up the show with an opening dance performance and then serenaded her fans with songs “ La La La ,” “ Alam Na This ,” “ Pretty Boy ” and “ Tulak ng Bibig , Kabig ng Dibdib .” She also capped the program with a performance of her album ’ s carrier single , “ Di Ko Lang Masabi .”
MOR ’ s DJ Eva Ronda , the event ’ s host , revealed that Kisses ’ album already sold 15,000 units prior to the launch .
Kisses thanked her fans and said that without them , her album would not have been possible . “ I didn ’ t really believe in myself that I could have an album before , but because of your support , I told myself I could do this .”
Rayver Cruz and La Luna Sangre star Tony Labrusca joined her in the much-awaited album launch . Child star Awra Briguela also went onstage as judge to the “ Miss Q & A ” game participated by the audience .
The young artist introduced “’ Di Ko Lang Masabi ” in early October via MOR and it has , since then , topped various music charts . In 20 days , its official lyric video , uploaded on StarMusic ’ s YouTube channel , already hit 1 million views and currently has over 1.3 million views and counting .
She also hit a record-breaking milestone with her grand album launch as tickets were sold out in 30 minutes after they were released .
These milestones add to the 2016 ASAP Pop Teen Sweetheart ’ s achievements this year after she came out from PBB . She became a guest celebrity VJ in MYX with Marco Gallo in July , starred in Wansapanataym Presents Amazing Ving , had her first movie with the MayWard loveteam - - Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber – in September with Star Cinema ’ s Loving in Tandem , and will soon star in ABS-CBNmobile ’ s digital series , Squad Goals . ●
