Canadian Filipino cager Zach Corrales Nicholls has turned professional after he was drafted to play at the Philippine Basketball Association ( PBA ).
Nicholls , who was born and raised in B . C ., will be suiting up for the GlobalPort team .
Nicholls is 6 ’ 3 height , 24 years old . His parents are Edna Mae Corrales and Chris Nicholls .
His grandmother is Edna Corrales , daughter of former Tarlac Governor Joe Macapinlac .
Nicholls has two siblings . His oldest brother Josh is a National Hockey League professional hockey player , and his younger sister Courtney , also an athlete , works at the Surrey Recreation Center .
Nicholls finished his elementary education at the Immaculate Conception Delta ( IC Delta ). He

went to high school at South Delta Senior Secondary School .
He has Associate studies at Trinity Western University . He finished his university education at the Arellano University in Manila , where he took up BS Sports Management .
Nicholls is passionate , focused , and dedicated to his game .
In May 2012 , he was recruited by Coach Koy Banal to play for the National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA ) varsity team of Arellano University .
He has played in the Philippines for five years and has gained his name as the Filipino Canadian Gunslinger of the NCAA .
His hard work and performance paid off , and he was picked in the 2017 PBA draft . ●

Former Palarong Pambansa standouts Maurice Sacho Ilustre , Nicole Pamintuan and Bhay Maitland Newberry lead a promising junior team of 12 boys and 12 girls who will see action in the 41st Southeast Asian Age Group swimming championships starting tomorrow in Brunei .
Ilustre swept all his seven events and emerged as the Most Valuable Player in the boys high school division of the Palaro last April in San Jose , Antique while Pamintuan and Newberry also bagged a couple of gold medals in the girls high school division of the meet organized by the Department of Education .

Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone on Thursday apologized to Meralco counterpart Norman Black , after an ill-tempered end to Game 3 of their title series in the PBA Governors ’ Cup .
Cone was visibly irked that the Bolts still called for a timeout even as they were up by 13 points with just 38.1 seconds left .
He refused to shake hands with Black at the end of the game , and the two were seen exchanging words as they headed to the tunnel in the wake of Meralco ’ s 94-81 victory on Wednesday night at the Araneta Coliseum .
The next morning , Cone issued an apology , saying that he “ regrets ” his actions .
