The coffee table book also contains remarkable milestones in the Philippine retail industry and the PRA ‘ s history in the last 40 years . The publication is the brainchild of PRA Board members – Mr . Mars Chua and Mr . Jorge Mendiola .
Moreover , the coffee table book is the retail industry ’ s way to recognize the success stories of the President ’ s Awardees and to celebrate their relentless dedication and invaluable contributions to the retail industry .
“ As the Philippine retail industry continues to grow and expand , the PRA salutes and praises our 12 retail icons for building the path to success --- not only for the industry , but for the nation as a whole ,” Mr . Mendiola said .
“ Through your businesses , you were able to change peoples ’ lives for the better , as well as drive the nation ’ s economic growth . There is a vast ripple effect to every success and milestone that each one of our retail pioneers achieved ,” added Mr . Chua .
Through the commemorative publication , the PRA aims to immortalize the 12 President ’ s awardees ’ contributions to the retail industry in print that can be read and shared to many other Filipinos who can be touched by their real life stories .

graduating high school students gain experience in and learn work ethics and prepare them for the real world .
Through the new partnership , PRA and PPH will connect students with PRA member-companies where they can observe the actual working environment and enhance their technical skills based on the specialization they are taking .
PRA President Santos said he hopes that this program will help students develop good working habits in the future as well as gain appreciation for work .
“ We are delighted to take part in this initiative as part of our corporate social responsibility and our commitment to create a positive impact on the community , especially to young people ,” he said .
BIR Regulations Affecting Retail
1 . Revenue Regulations ( RR ) No . 10- 2015 – Prescribes the use of nonthermal paper for all CRM , POS and other invoice / receipt generating machine / software ;
2 . RR No . 4-2013 - Amending Certain Provisions of Revenue Regulations No . 11-2004 prescribing the Machine Identification Number ( MIN ) Sticker for the Use of CRM , POS System Machines and / or Business / Sale Machines Generating Receipts / Invoices
3 . RR No . 11-2004 - Prescribes the rules and regulations on the accreditation , registration and use of CRM , POS System Machines and / or Business / Sale Machines Generating Receipts / Invoices
4 . Revenue Memorandum Order ( RMO ) No . 12-2012 - Prescribes the guidelines and procedures in the implementation of the Electronic Sales Reporting by taxpayers using CRM , POS System Machines and / or Business / Sale Machines Generating Receipts / Invoices and for other purpose ;
5 . RMO No . 10-2005 - Prescribes the policies and procedures in the accreditation of CRM , POS , other sales machines including sales receipting system software as well as registration for the use thereof pursuant to RR Nos . 11-2004 and 5-2005 ;
6 . Revenue Memorandum Circular ( RMC ) No . 55-2016 - Clarifies the five-year validity period of Certificate of Accreditation issued to developers / dealers / supplier-vendors / pseudosuppliers of CRM / POS machines and other sales machines / receipting software ;
7 . RMC No . 68-2015 - Mandates the accreditation of all CRM , POS machines and other sales machines / receipting software at the BIR National Office ;
8 . RMC No . 30-2015 - Implements strict non-issuance of Provisional Permit to Use CRM / POS machines / receipting software to prospective / new users ; and
9 . RMC No . 45-2014 - Prescribes the use of the enhanced and integrated Electronic Accreditation and Registration ( eAccReg ) and Electronic Sales Reporting ( eSales ) Systems .

PRA to Elect New Board in Q2 Meeting
PRA members are set to choose once again a new set of Board of Directors for 2018-2020 at the next General Membership Meeting and Elections ( GMME ) on June 28 , 2018 .
Nominations will be opened starting March 28- April 28 . All PRA regular members ( retailers ) in good standing are eligible to vote as well as become a candidate . Members are encouraged to actively get involved in the nomination and election process .
Fifteen ( 15 ) Board of Directors will be elected . The new Board will vote among themselves the new set of officers for the new term .
Members eligible to vote are encouraged to personally attend the meeting on June 28 . Those who are not able to attend and vote may designate an official proxy to the PRA meeting .
