Malacañang orders NEDA to
ease restrictions on foreign
investments
President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the National
Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) to lift or ease
restrictions on eight investment areas with limited foreign
participation including retail trade enterprises.
The Memorandum Order No. 16, released last November 21 aims to “improve
the Philippines’ competitiveness” as well as “foster higher economic growth
in the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) region.”
