TFW PROGRAM . One Way to bring Relatives to Canada

So you want to help your brother or sister or even your cousin , aunt and nephew come to Canada ?
But unfortunately , per Canada ’ s immigration laws they ’ re not member of the family class so sponsorship under this class it ’ s just not possible . However , they are other ways to accomplish this .
Canada ’ s Temporary Foreign Worker Program ( TFW ) is very much a viable option .
BACKGROUND . The Temporary foreign worker program or TFWP is a program of the Government of Canada to allow employers in Canada to hire foreign nationals . When the program started in 1973 , most of the workers brought in were high-skill workers such as specialist doctors . In 2002 a “ low-skilled workers ” category was added ; this category now makes up most of the temporary foreign workforce .
The total number of TFW more than doubled between 1993 and 2013 , to 338,189 workers . Between 2006 and 2014 , more than 500,000 workers ( referred to under the program as Temporary Foreign Workers or TFWs ) were brought into Canada under the program . In 2013 there were 338,000 foreign workers in Canada .
Here are few steps you can take to help your relatives come to Canada !
A JOB OFFER . First , you need a full time job offer from a qualified Canadian employer . Many labor and immigration experts in Canada are all saying for some time now that Canada ’ s need for more TFW is unparallel . The economic benefits are obvious . No doubt ! This country need these workers — low wage and high wage workers .
LMIA . Second , with a valid job offer , the employer must now
obtain a Labor Market Impact Assessment ( LMIA ) to hire foreign workers to fill temporary labor and skill shortages . The LMIA verifies that there is a need for a temporary worker and that no Canadians are available to do the job .
CONTRACT WITH THE EMPLOYEE . An important part of the LMIA is the contract between the employee and the employer . The document protects both parties and spells out , amongst other , salary and / or benefits , hours of work , job description , contract period , and many other relevant details .
WORK PERMIT . Now with a positive LMIA , the foreign national , the worker , can now apply for a work permit and , if approved , will give the foreign worker the visa to land in Canada as a worker .
