Life etc .

It ’ s a doggone world ...

On a Delta Air flight from Paris to Denver snack was handed out , which included an apple . A lady passenger was not able to eat her snack so decided to just keep it for the next leg of her flight . When the plane stopped over in Minneapolis airport a random U . S . border check found the apple in her bag . She was fined US $ 500 , despite her futile explanations .
Sounds ridiculous ? It is . When one commits any act of terrorism on a U . S . carrier like Delta it ’ s considered an act of terrorism on U . S . soil itself . This should work the other way around too . The apple was practically handed out by an American carrier on U . S . “ soil ” so it ’ s the airline who actually broke protocol here .
Just when we think the airline should try to come to the passenger ’ s aid , instead issued a statement that the company encourages customers to follow all U . S . border and customs protocols .
The passenger said she will take this to court . Good for her - hope she sues both the government and the airline .
Another recent airline booboo , this time United ( again - remember the passenger that was beaten and dragged ?) - a flight steward ordered a couple to put their dog in the overhead compartment . Poor passengers ( and dog ) had to comply - else they may be beaten and dragged again . Flight was from Houston to New York and took more than three hours . Arriving in New York the dog was dead . As expected , the airline would only issue an apology , like always .
Continuing with our dog news , this time with a different twist .
In Australia a three-year old girl with her dog got lost for more than 16 hours in the neighboring bushland mountain and rescue efforts seem futile as night fell . The grandma will not give up so on through the darkness of the night she scoured the mountain . Finally reaching the top she thought she heard her grandkid ’ s voice call out “ grammy !”.
Still trying to locate the youngster ’ s whereabouts the dog suddenly met up with her , eventually leading her to the girl , who was unharmed except for a few bruises .
Authorities say the dog apparently stayed with the young girl all through the night to keep her company and to keep her warm . Experts say the dog would have felt the child was in distress , crying and cold , and so stayed with her . The dog was hailed as a hero and awarded an honorary title by

Working hard to get you a fair deal . the police . The dog was 17 years old - almost blind . In human years that ’ s about 119 years old !

Sweet lessons learned here . One , grandparents will never give up - even climb a mountain in darkness - for their grandkids . Two , a dog , no matter how old or blind - is still man ’ s best friend . And three , a cat is dumb , don ’ t get a cat .
