Determined to fulfill his elusive dream , Owen Jerzey James Napieralski got the first base towards his goal after getting a scholarship from Louisiana State University in Shreveport .
The perseverance of the young lad , who sent out emails to 100 schools finally paid off after getting a response from LSUS .
“ My biggest ambition in life is to have a successful career as a college baseball player and eventually become drafted .” I ’ m so happy and thankful to LSU for accepting my application ,”

Pinoy teen nets baseball scholarship

The young lad who started playing baseball at age 5 , admitted that being glued to this sport was mainly due to his mom ’ s interest to put him in any outdoor training that will make him fit and active at a very young age .
“ My mom signed me up to a bunch of activities and baseball happened to be one of the sports she signed me up for ,” he added .
The only child of Ana ( of Chiquitita Dancers ) and George , Owen ’ s future in baseball is currently on the right path , and having an extensive s training plus lots of motivation will produce an endless positive results .
He ’ s currently undergoing remote training online with a baseball service called TREAD athletics , which specializes on strength training , as well as velocity development plus arm care work .
The 18-year-old catcheroutfielder of Whalley Chiefs team added that with regards to hitting , he ’ s doing it on his own but admitted he honed this skill under the watchful eye of coach Derek Florko . “ He ( Derek ) helped me with my drills and my swing .”
B e f o r e enduring in any game , his usual routine includes eating , listening to his favorite music or sometimes take a nap and do some stretching , to name a few .
On a scale of 1 to 10 , the young Napieralski is quick to admit he gauges his level to up to 7 when it comes to rigorous training .
As a kid , he plays soccer and did some sessions in swimming before turning his interest to volleyball and basketball in high school . When he was in Grade 9 in Sands Secondary School , he decided to stick with baseball .
He is rooting for St . Louis Cardinals team in Major League Baseball ( MLB ) and wants to follow the footsteps of Josh Donaldson and J . D . Martinez of Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks , respectively .
“ A s i d e from wanting to become a baseball player , I ’ m very much interested in Sports Science and Training . “ I would like to become a Sports Trainer or Physiotherapist someday ,” he concludes .
