ZERO FAULT PRODUCTION
Fratelli Roda SA has become the fi rst Swiss company to install a Bobst Accucheck unit , which delivers complete in-line quality checks of folding cartons . The unit reinforces its position as a supplier constantly focused on quality . The system is further expected to attract new business from the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries .
Franco Roda , general director at Fratelli Roda SA , says the company is known for investing in innovative technology . ‘ It was natural for us to look at further improving the quality of our products . Our customers are on a continuous quest for perfection . We chose the Accucheck unit because it can check 100 percent of our folding carton production and meet their “ zero-fault ” requirements .’
Placed in line with a Bobst Expertfold or Masterfold folder-gluer , the unit checks each carton for print-to-cut registration precision , printing defects , oil or water marks , ink splashes , carton damage or scratches , bad cut quality or colour variation . If a blank does not meet the quality specifi cations input by the operator , it is ejected from the production stream .
