Leaving Salem

We were the last of our kind. Being forced to flee our home and hide like dogs on the run was bad enough, but we had to watch our poor neighbors, good women, being hung from gallows and burned alive. The guilt builded up inside of each of us. We should’ve turned ourselves in long ago, stopped all this madness, but we knew that was impossible. Our duties were far from complete.

Our Coven was the only one left. We were very lucky that all twelve of us were still there. If we hadn’t been, it would’ve been very hard to do what had to be done.

Gaia was the one who had suggested leaving permanently. We could find a new home, rebuild our Coven. Hazel refused at first. She could never leave her family behind, but soon realized that she had no choice. We were in too much danger to stay in Salem.

“Gather round,” June said. The field surrounding us was empty. This was the safest place for us right now.

“How exactly are we to accomplish this?” asked Karma.
