As for hearing, it can be related to many audio frequency factors. In addition, we know how the mind can make up stories based on the sounds we are subjected to, especially frightening ones. Touch is by far the most interesting and necessary of the “five senses”. The sense of touch develops before all other senses in embryos, and is the main way in which infants learn about their environment and bond with other people. Positive touch from others is necessary for an infant or an individual’s healthy development. A person with sight impairment or blindness experiences the sensation of touch from a different perspective then a person with clear vision. Therefore touch could feel good to one, but feel differently to another.

The world of sensory perception is the world of time, change, beginnings and endings. It is variable in its interpretation. If each individual perceives the world based on their distinct perception of their experiences, beliefs, environments and senses, then everyone experiences the world and their reality differently.

Socrates was a devoted lover of wisdom and knowledge. His contention was the information we receive from our senses varies, so we have to look elsewhere in order to learn Reality and Truth. Our five senses are only a means for us to interpret the physical realm. Yet, there is still another aspect to Reality to be revealed.

THE MIND IS A TRICKSTER

What we call reality is the result of our brain's very complex integration of external stimuli gathered through our sensory organs. The data collected is brought into the proper parts of our brain for processing and then gets integrated into a sense of reality. However, our perception and thoughts fail to accurately reflect objective reality. How often did we think we observed something that originated from our five senses and proved differently?

Or was it just an illusion? A basic example is in the Muller Lyer illusion where there are two lines of equal length, but one appears to be different.

Scientist-artist Beau Lotto pointed out that even something as simple as the perceptual experience of color is subject to illusion; the colors we perceive are not necessarily indicative of the physical nature of the light that hits our retinas.

OUR REALITY IS AN ILLUSION

Everything around us that we know of is an illusion. When we think of distressing things, we sense fear. When we imagine beautiful and peaceful sceneries, we feel blissful. When we are fully engrossed in a movie, our emotions and feelings move along with the plot, even though we know it is all just a show.

The beautiful thing about illusions is that they are critical windows into the mind. They make us realize that things are never what they seem, but also that our experiences of the world shape our understanding of them. The mind enjoys feeding on the illusions of self.

VIBRATIONAL SIGNATURES

Quantum physicists confirm that we live in a world of frequency where physical atoms are made up of vortices of energy that are constantly spinning, vibrating and radiating energy. Each atom has it own identifying energy pattern. Therefore all matter in the Universe, including ourselves, radiates a unique energy signature as a vibrational frequency. The fact that energy and matter are one and the same is precisely what Albert Einstein recognized when he concluded E=mc2.
