AROC : the Law Firm For New Entrepreneurs
Mapas de Panamá S . A , together with AROC , will develop an interactive map for local use . It represents an innovative tourist route for Panama , where new brands from national talents will be shown .
Globally , there are more and more entrepreneurs seeking to advertise their products , projects or ideas to their clients and the public in general . The initiative is expanding mainly towards young people who seek to generate their own income , allowing them to be independent and self-sufficient .
Nonetheless , at times , many of these new brands don ’ t have any copyright , which means they are unprotected against imitations .
For that reason , in 2018 , a group of lawyers created the first intellectual property law firm in Panama . The project is called AROC , and its manager , María Gilma Arocha , gave Casco Antiguo News several details about the works .
AROC is supported by institutions such as the World Intellectual Property Organization ( WIPO ), the International Trademark Association ( INTA ), and the Interty , an international boutique intellectual property law firm .
“ In AROC , entrepreneurs are oriented by their collaborators to shape their ideas . We also offer more advanced , high-quality legal services regarding intellectual property aspects , such as the one related to the business area , -business establishment , branding , and etc . - ” Arrocha explained .
“ It was also noticed that many people who knew about the company didn ’ t have the enterprise ’ s creative aspect fully developed , such as audiovisual production , design , and others . For that reason , a creativity network was created , the previous services included . Besides allowing being part of more than 300 local brands keeping with the philosophy of working in groups , the project also offers job opportunities from the very community ”, Arrocha emphasized .
Entrepreneurs get a 20 % discount on CNA fees ( Colegio Nacional de Abogados , in Spanish .)
Trademark registrations can be done in a period of ten years for a fixed price of $ 700 .
