di sera, il risciacquo finale nel fiume o alla fonte avveniva la
mattina seguente. Le donne facevano il bucato della propria
famiglia una volta a settimana.
Laundry basket
It contained clothes for washing: the clothes were stacked
inside, while a white hemp sheet was placed on top. In the
morning, the clothes were removed from the basket and taken
down the river bank to be washed. It took at least two days to
do the laundry: the first soaking in the morning, bleaching and
washing in the evening, final rinse in the river or in the spring
the following morning. Women did their laundry once a week.
