Trading
Trading and contacts among communities, especially during
local fairs, were enabled by transport. Animals, farming
produce and handcrafted objects were bought and sold. A lot of
these objects are on display in the museum: sacks, nets, “biunzi
a scarecatora”, big containers used to transport wheat and other
products, baskets, brooms and brushes made from sorghum.
Lo “scupittu”
La scopetta è costituita da un manico formato da cannucce
strette da due legature di vimini e da una parte ramosa e
filamentosa, tagliata all’estremità, con rametti rossastri e
giallognoli. Ricavata da canne di saggina asciugate al sole, si
usava per pulire botti e altri contenitori in cantina e in cucina, e
anche per pulire la tavola prima e dopo i pasti.
