“When we visited our Museum of Farm Life, I was fascinated
by the way it came into being. Everyone in Roviano gave their
own objects and all together they left behind a vivid and
unforgettable trace of those years (the objects in the museum
range from the last two decades of the nineteenth century to
the 1980s). I was struck by the wealth of models and objects
gathered in each section in all sizes and shapes; by the
purposeful way the objects are displayed, particularly in the
section devoted to childhood, the old umbrellas and the very
explanatory captions, which I found interesting. Everything
has been preserved in the best way; this I find highly enticing.
Even if we don’t visit the museum frequently, we should be
proud of our origins, traditions and, most of all, of the
museum itself. Even if the world has changed drastically
because of technological advances, which have replaced
farmers and sharecroppers, Roviano has not lost its traditions
and enterprising spirit.”
