Goals!

Probably the most important thing to help make a lasting change, in any part of our lives, is to come up with, understand, and maintain our goals. You have likely already come up with goals that you are actively working on and the New Year is a perfect time to add new goals to what you are already doing. When thinking of your goals it's also important to know what is motivating you to make resolutions and ultimately keep them. The great thing is your goals can be something simple to start with, that will help keep you motivated.

Dedication!

Continue to do what worked for you before. You may not even know that you were already working towards a better you, this past year, but it's as easy as looking at the things you are good at and things that come easy to you. Maybe your resolution is to get to work on time, this is an active goal of mine for sure, and I can tell you it is a goal I strive for every day. If you know you have the desire and the willingness to do something, especially if you've already been doing it, you are more likely to keep at it. It is great to set goals but in order to put them into action you need to have the dedication which will ultimately help you be successful. If you find yourself meeting your goals and even exceeding them, then it's time to expand them.

You hear it every year, "New Year, New Me". Without fail, January 1st is full of resolutions, goals, and new expensive gym memberships. Maybe we felt we could have lost more weight, dressed better, read more books, spent more time with family, the list is endless. But was your year really that bad, does it call for a "new" you? Like most people I have been conditioned to think that I need to be a new me in the New Year, but sometimes all you need to do is kick it up a notch.

If you're anything like me, you probably spent January-December of last year working on the "new" you. You probably found yourself having a couple good weeks, maybe months and saw the natural ebb and flow of trying to make significant changes in your life. You more than likely had some successes this year that you may not have had before and that is something to celebrate. When we think about the New Year it's important to keep in mind the great things we accomplished and not forget about them, which is why you need to forget about the new you and vamp up the old you.

Just follow these 3 steps to get you started:
