You can access the new Community Water Fluoridation page at www.padental.org/fluoride. This toolkit includes quick facts, talking points and other media resources, including a sample letter to the editor. In 2016, PDA unveiled a Take Five initiative that encourages our members to become Medical Assistance providers. You can find details about the Take Five program and helpful links at www.padental.org/take5. To help members meet their CE requirements, PDA and our district and local societies sponsors educational events in several locations throughout the state, including Wellsboro, Greensburg and Danville. Some topics include risk management, infection control and all phases of clinical dentistry. Visit www.padental.org/calendar to register for any of the PDA-sponsored courses PDA online programs that offer continuing education credit include: In response to frequent requests from the public and member dentists, PDA’s website includes a comprehensive directory of low-cost dental clinics located in Pennsylvania. The resource, organized alphabetically by county, offers the public, elected officials and member dentists an easily accessible guide to low-cost dental centers. The directory is a popular stop for the public, receiving a total of 3,542 unique visits in 2016. PDA members are encouraged to volunteer and/or contribute supplies to the dental clinics. We reach out to the public to promote the importance of good oral health – and at the same time promote PDA – by distributing monthly news releases to media outlets statewide, on all sorts of topics ranging from fluoridation to mouthguards to detecting oral cancer. We strive to always remind the public of the importance of maintain- ing oral health and making regular visits to their dentist. Areas covered include the new provisions for business associate agreements and clarification on when breaches of unsecured health information must be reported. Infection Control Presentation: 1 CE Credit www.padental.org/infectioncontrol Updates members on the guidelines for infection control in the dental health care setting and provides resources for understanding and implementing infection control procedures. Radiology Presentation: 2 CE Credits www.padental.org/radiology PDA’s Environmental Issues Advisory Group developed a complimentary online radiology CE presentation for in-office training, exclusively for PDA members and their staff.
