had to spend valuable time and emotional capital dealing with that and having to have ADA legal counsel step in after an investigation and issue an email to all delegates that there was no wrongdoing on Andy ’ s behalf . Legal concluded the story he told during his speech was really and truly one his late father told him . Could a past president of the ADA been the one who started rumor ? That is a rumor I heard , and if true , disgusts me .
Has dental politics really sunk to the same level as national politics ? Can ’ t we just let the candidates stand on their own and may the best candidate win ? I wonder if Pennsylvania will have a complex after three candidates have put themselves out there and none have been successful . Anyone who runs for office gets my credit and my admiration for going through the process . I can ’ t imagine a loss , especially when you are in it to win it . I am sure Bill and Charlie must still occasionally wonder what could have been and what went wrong . I know for sure that my good friend Andy will wonder the same thing himself for a long time . That being said , time is the greatest healer of any loss and I expect that will be true for Dr . Kwasny .
In closing , I would like to thank you , the readers , for indulging me while I have reflected on loss and also thank so many of you who have recognized Andy ’ s candidacy and provided a contribution to the campaign . We could not have done it without your help . It is my hope that one day one of our PDA colleagues will break through the cycle of loss and put themselves in line to be our first ADA president since Dr . John Bomba in 1984-85 .
