W e asked our employees … W hy do YOU V olunteer ? The Philadelphia Eagles hosted their inaugural Eagles Autism Challenge on May 19th. The event included a Friday night Kick-off Party at Lincoln Financial Field and a rainy Saturday bike ride and run/walk. Despite the rain, the event was a success with more than $2.52 million raised by more than 3,300 participants. 100% of participant-raised funds are going towards autism research and programs at the three beneficiary institutions: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University, and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. Autism is the largest developmental disorder in the world and is historically underfunded. At a rate of 1 in 59 children affected, many employees at Pennoni have a personal connection to the cause. Our team, led by Danielle Bruce, was passionate in their fundraising and enthusiasm at Lincoln Financial Field in the cold and rain. They were rewarded by a fantastic event, including appearances by current and former players, photos with the Lombardi Trophy, access to the field at “The Linc”, food/beverages, and a performance by Alex Aiono. Pennoni Founder and Chairman, Chuck Pennoni, encouraged and rallied participants at both Pennoni and his alma mater, Drexel University. He had this to say about the event, “It has been a distinct honor and privilege to support this most worthwhile and beneficial charitable event.” 12 | P E N N O N I
