Nikita Shiel-Rolle ( 1996-2001 ) continues to make her mark winning The Bahamian Icon Award for Youth Development . She commented on her win , “ As challenging as things are in the country that we love , one sure source of hope is the amazing work that my fellow nominees are doing to inspire young Bahamians . It is my hope that this award will help Young Marine Explorers become more well known in The Bahamas so that we can grow and develop and impact the lives of thousands of Bahamian youth !”
