by the natural environment of The Bahamas: the essence of water and the texture of pineapple. In the end, the clothes were just as I wanted them. I was able to execute exactly what I had in my head. I REALLY ENJOY THE ARTISTIC PART OF FASHION DESIGN. I LIKE THE IDEA OF MAKING UTILITARIAN ART, WEARABLE ART. FASHION IS OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH SUPERFICIALITY, BUT I THINK IT IS FUN TO CREATE ART THAT PEOPLE BOTH LIKE AND USE. What are your plans for the future? I plan to be a fashion designer and to work with a textile designer to create original textiles. Textile design is its own specialty and few fashion designers regularly design their own textiles. Please share a memory of LCIS. I miss the family feeling of the small school. I was really close to my classmates and we all helped each other. That doesn’t happen in design school. People are much more competitive. I miss that camaraderie. 25
