Tech Group – 119 Mould Heaters
It is a fact that mould heaters are not the most interesting – or
expensive – pieces of equipment that you will fi nd in a plastics
processing facility. But without mould heaters, the much more
interesting and expensive injection moulding machines will not
operate properly.
Over the past seven years, as part of their own replacement policy,
Tech Group has purchased a total of 119 specially modifi ed mould
heaters. The modifi cations include an advanced control panel which
allows communication between the mould heater and injection
moulding machine through a chosen protocol, diff erent control
valves for dealing with the process water and a customer specifi ed
paint treatment.
Renmar Plastics Machinery is the UK distributor for the AEC range of
mould heaters and the reason why Tech Group has chosen to base
their mould heater replacement policy around AEC, is reliability.
Practically every other competitive range of mould heaters will
have a heat exchanger and water reservoir. With this arrangement,
the build-up of sediment is inevitable which means a reduction
in effi ciency and frequent maintenance. The AEC mould heaters
from Renmar have a pressurised system which means that fl ow
rates are much higher, mould heating is more consistent thanks to
turbulent fl ow and there is no sediment build-up to worry about.
