transmission force. The manufacturer ultimately adopted the Koyo Traction Drive Unit in it’s printing presses and the effects were instant. The uneven rotation of the feed drum decreased significantly and printing quality improved dramatically. Fast forward 5 years and Koyo started mass production of traction drives which in turn led to products developed for everything from electric vehicles to diagnostic imaging equipment for medical X-rays (where intricate movement and stability are paramount). What started with a print misalignment issue for a client turned into a high precision product that supports a variety of industries today. Realisation of a Traction Drive Unit capable of accurately, quietly and smoothly reducing speed by leveraging Koyo bearing technology. Today, a traction drive is a standard option for engineers and it’s capable of smooth, stable speed reduction and low speed. The units are used in a huge range of sectors including automotive, aerospace and medical sectors along with range of other industries. Koyo specialises in bearings and strives to produce smaller, lighter, longer lasting bearing for all our customers. Our R&D team is focused on improving and developing new products supporting a wide range of applications in the automotive, aerospace, power, agriculture and construction industries. We take great pride in the products we manufacture.
