MEASUREMENT & MONITORING HANDHELD TACHOMETERS RHEINTACHO UK LTD RHEINTACHO INSTRUMENTS AND TACHOMETERS Rheintacho UK Ltd, a subsidiary of German Rheintacho Messtechnik GmbH, is located in Leeds and has over 300 years of combined history and experience coming from its time as Foundrometers Instrumentation, through the acquisition of Harding of Leeds and due to its close relationship to Germany and its products. Rheintacho UK is now the competence center in the companies group responsible for intrinsically safe applications and is continuously expanding its product portfolio for offerings to companies working in hazardous environments which need tachometers and stroboscopes for measurement, monitoring and control of speed and linear movement in operations and in maintenance of equipment. In production environments, the mechanical and electrical tachometers, such as eddy current tachometers provide reliable and easy display of speed and associated properties. These tachometers are always calibrated to suit our customers applications. Our handheld mechanical tachometers which require no batteries, are most suitable in maintenance operations by inspectors, service engineers and inspectors. They are often used in elevator, pump, motor and other areas where a reliable, portable and easy-to-use tachometer can facilitate maintenance. They are offered in both imperial and metric versions for speeds up to 50,000 rpm. Our eddy current tachometers which are very often also used as flowmeters, are connected to a moving component by a drive coupling. The movement is then transferred to the dial which can be specified to any application. We are also in the process of certifying the complete line of eddy current tachometers with and without a gearbox for intrinsically safe applications. We also offer a wide range of tacho generators for the accurate measurement of rotational speed of motors and engines. The signal which comes from the shaft to which the tacho generator is connected is transferred to a Rheintacho indicator. There is a wide range of alternatives depending on the voltage, current or pulse output. Typical applications are for the measurement of rotational speed of ship engines, turbines, rotors, rollers or conveyor belts. They need no external power supply which makes them attractive especially when on-board supply fails completely. The tacho generator continues to provide accurate readings.
