31ST ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT RAISES
USD 80’000 FOR CHILDREN’S CHARITY
Sulzer Turbo Services Houston Inc ,’s annual
Hack Attack golf tournament, which is held
at the Golf Club of Houston, has raised USD
80’000 this year for the local Today’s Harbor
for Children charity. This year’s event also
celebrates the charity’s 70th anniversary.
The tournament is held in April, which is also
Child Abuse Prevention month.
Taking place at the home of the Shell
Houston Open, the charity golf tournament
organized by Sulzer Turbo Services Houston
Inc. helps raise money to provide residential
care for children that have been abused,
abandoned or neglected in the Greater
Houston Metropolitan Area. With only 144
players invited to take part, each one raises
considerable sponsorship for the very
worthwhile cause.
The day got off to an early start with
breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and a shotgun start
at 8 a.m. for the scramble format that
would ensure all the players completed
their rounds together. Aside from the
team matches, there were several other
competitions including a hole-in-one
contest to win USD 10,000 cash and prizes

for the longest putt, the longest drive and
the shot closest to the pin.
Over the years there have been some
notable participants to the Hack Attack,
such as Tim Drury and other long-standing
customers of Sulzer Turbo Services Houston
Inc. In addition, the continued support of
some of its suppliers, such as Fred Gorman
of Gorman Uniforms and David Bailey from
Bailey Steel is greatly appreciated.
