Measurement & Monitoring From Modbus to the Cloud Every day seems to bring a new request to connect a Modbus device to our SmartHub™ in order to give clients that rich functionality, to monitor, manage and inform. All done remotely, real time and on-line. So how do we get Modbus Controllers talking to the CDL SmartHub™ so quickly, securely and seamlessly? Once the NanoULTRA is connected to your target device (RS232 or RS485) and powered up, all of the configuration work is then done via the SmartHub, there is no need to connect to the device directly with a PC to configure Modbus communications. This can all be achieved, securely via any browser/Smart Device. CeramTec goes with the flow with fully-integrated flow body and ultrasonic sensor solution CeramTec has streamlined the design process for manufacturers of domestic and industrial water metering systems with the release of a new flow body component which features an in-built 2MHz ultrasonic sensor. Available in a range of materials, including lead-free brass to ensure compliance with the applicable water-safety legislation, CeramTec has the design capability to develop bespoke products to meet specific customer requirements. www.ceramtec.co.uk For more information, please visit www.captiondata.com Mounted any way you need it: compact flow sensor with rotatable display from EGE Gettorf – For flow measurement of water and water-based media in large pipes, sensor specialists EGE launch the new SNS 552 flow sensor that features an I/O-Link interface and a digital display. The compact device facilitates fast readout of flow volumes by showing liter or cubic meter measurements on a display that can be rotated for better visibility. In addition, the responsive sensor is highly resistant to temperature variations and provides integrated temperature measurements in a range from 0 to +80 °C. www.ege-elektronik.com New PT900 Portable Flow Meter from GE Panametrics More than redundant: Special encoder with three separate measuring systems Berlin – Sensor specialist FSG presents the new special magnetic encoder series MH680-III- MU-G which provides maximum reliability through multiple redundancy. The device enclosures are manufactured from Hart-Coat aluminium and provide corrosion, shock and vibration resistance. Thanks to their wide temperature range of -30 °C to +80 °C and IP67 ingress protection they are suitable for even the most demanding environments. The new encoder features a resolution of 14 bit and covers a measuring range of 0-360°. Signal output is provided per channel via a 4-20 mA current interface. FSG provides each channel with its own membrane keypad for signal setting, therefore allowing for independent calibration of every signal output. www.fernsteuergeraete.de Dual laser infrared thermometer The high-performance, handheld OS758-LS dual infrared thermometer from Omega is a non-contact temperature measurement instrument. The OS758-LS offers a wide array of features including adjustable emissivity, color backlit LCD, 60:1 distance to spot, hi/ low temp alarm, max/min/avg/ diff temperature monitoring and data storage. This meter is also designed with a microSD card slot (SD card included). The OS758-LS offers a rugged design that is shatterproof at 1 m (3.3’) with an ergonomic rubber boot handle. A Type K thermocouple input is included for contact measurements, often used to verify emissivity. www.omega.co.uk 102 PECM Issue 27 The PT900 is the latest generation of portable clamp on flow meters from GE Panametrics. It has been designed based on its successful predecessor, the PT878, and still features the same high performance. The user interface, clamping fixtures and transmitter have all undergone a complete redesign to make them even more user friendly allowing an accuracy of ±1% of reading to be achieved. The PT900 uses wireless Bluetooth® technology to communicate with the transmitter and tablet. The free app is available from Google Play and features a setup guide wizard to achieve quick setup and measurements within minutes. Please contact us for more information.
