NEWS & EVENTS SABmed Cables and Wires Bio compatible medical cables with UL approval and “non blooming” effect NSF Controls Improves Performance & Power Consumption For Mobile Phone Charger Lockers There are highest demands on connection cables for medical devices especially for electro therapy/ surgery and dental technology if the cables are used between generator and applicator and thus are in contact with the patient. The use of lockers is growing in all aspects of everyday life, advancing manufacture to meet the demands of innovation. Be it mobile phone charge lockers or fully automated 24/7 parcel lockers, located anywhere, it’s all about consumer convenience. As a result NSF Controls, a UK leading designer and manufacturer of solenoids and switches, has seen an upturn in business from this sector. And for one of its clients, the world’s leading secure, away from home, mobile phone charging business, NSF Controls has helped to improve the performance and power consumption of the company’s mobile phone charger lockers. www.sab-worldwide.com www.nsfcontrols.co.uk UPM Conveyors develops system for faster cooling of moulded caps Record-size industrial gear unit in a one-piece housing (PresseBox) Cable specialist SAB Bröckskes puts on the market a broad range of new cable materials for medical devices. The bio compatible material series SABmed S contains besides the basic type with high abrasion and tear strength an ultra flexible and smooth cable, a cable with UL approval as well as a non blooming type. UPM Conveyors has developed a new system designed for faster cooling of multi-impression closures. The new conveyors incorporate high-air-flow fans mounted over a water- cooled heat exchanger, which blow cold air onto the closures, typically reducing the temperature from 70°C to 20°C using variable speed control. “To cater for multi impression closure moulding where typically 120 caps can be moulded on a 10 second cycle, it is imperative to cool them down to avoid deflection in the collection bin,” explained Roy Fowler, Director at UPM Conveyors. www.upmconveyors.co.uk TE Connectivity expands Micro- MaTch cable assembly family with general-purpose value-line models TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has added value-line cable assemblies to its successful Micro-MaTch family. They provide a cost-effective solution for general purpose applications that do not require resistance to the highest temperature ranges, to high levels of vibration, or to extended du
